Silence
The silence that you wish for.
The silence that is deafening.
The awkward pauses in our conversations.
The silent pleading to have someone shut the fuck up.
The yearn for a lost loved ones’ voice to come back and provide comfort.
The things that sound like silence.
Like soft snow falling that blankets the Earth.
Like night in the city with no cars whizzing by, people talking or air conditioners humming, an odd erie silence.
Like stillness in the air with not even a hint of a gentle breeze to brush through your hair.
Can you hear it?
Can you hear the silence?
Can you feel it in your body?
Does it send chills down your spine?
Does it make you sink deeper in your chair?
Do your ears ring with a high pitched sound, begging to be consoled with some other noise?
What does the silence do to you?
Oooohh…. This touched a ‘chord’ in me. I related to how silence manifests in a myriad of ways. This poem is a beautiful ‘soundless’ reflection…
